Sandra La Espuelita
Sandra La Espuelita has been dancing Flamenco for nearly
20 years and has studied extensively in the UK, and in Jerez,
Seville and Córdoba in Spain. Her teachers have included
Mario Maya, Maria Angeles Gabaldón, Angelita Gomez
and Carmen de Torres.
She performs regularly with various groups across London and the UK,
and also runs her own groups, Sonido Flamenco
and Flamenco Pasión.
Sandra has collaborated with Pratap Pawar in Kathak/Flamenco
fusion performances such as the Flames and Fire
performance in Durham in 2005. (There are strong connections
between the two dance forms, and some consider Kathak to be
a source of Flamenco, transmitted through Muslim culture
to Andalusia.)
Sandra is an experienced teacher of Flamenco dance and her deep
love and enthusiasm for the art form show through in her classes,
which are run in East London and Essex.
Her pupils range in age from 5 years to 60+. They are all ages,
shapes and abilities. And with her philosophy that Flamenco
holds something for everyone that's how she likes it!
